JetBlue Airlines is a publicly owned company, so the company owners are the shareholders of its stock. According to Morningstar, as of April 2014, the total amount of owners, including both institutional and fund investors, was 825.
The shareholders are the owners because their investments, regardless of their size, entitles them to their respective stake in the company. As of the end of March 2014, Fidelity Growth Company Fund is the largest mutual fund owner of JetBlue Airlines. In addition to shareholders, the Board of Directors make operational decisions for the company. According to the Wall Street Journal, Dave Barger is the current Chief Executive Officer.
