The lifespan of a bearded dragon is six to 15 years. Australia is their natural habitat; however, they can be found around the world as pets.
The bearded dragon's natural predators are crocodiles, snakes and birds. When they perceive a threat, they flare their beards and change the color of their skin.The bearded dragon's diet consists mostly of vegetation; however, they are omnivores and also eat insects, earthworms and mice.
Bearded dragons can weigh up to 18 ounces and grow to 24 inches. They can reach speeds of up to 25 miles per hour. They hibernate once a year for two to three months.
