What is "The Pick Up Artist" on VH1?

"The Pickup Artist" is a dating game show that aired from Aug. 6, 2007 to Nov. 30, 2008 on VH1. The show was hosted by Mystery, a pick-up artist, and his two "wingmen," Justin Marks and James Matador.

The premise of "The Pickup Artist" was taking eight men who have been unsuccessful in relationships and gradually increasing their confidence with women. The men would then attempt to seduce women in increasingly difficult scenarios, with the ultimate goal of winning the cash prize of $50,000. The show received a great deal of negative press when it was revealed that some of the men were not as unsuccessful with women as the show suggested.
