It is not advisable to give Advil to dogs because it can be dangerous to a dog when used improperly. If a dog ingests over-the-counter tablets, taking it to a veterinarian should be the first step to preventing any health complications.
Many people get tempted to give their dogs over-the-counter painkillers when their dogs are in pain. This should be avoided at all cost. Instead, there are drugs that are made to relieve pain in dogs. Examples include Previcox for dogs, Dermaxx for dogs, Adequan Canine and Rimadyl for dogs. These drugs are given to a dog only with the prescription of a veterinarian.
