Where and when was Prime American Insurance founded?

Commonly known as Primerica, Prime American Insurance was founded in February of 1977 by Arthur L. Williams in Duluth, Georgia. Prime American Insurance is a multi-tiered marketing company that provides various financial products in the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada.

Prime American Insurance sells term life insurance, mutual funds, long-term care insurance, auto insurance, managed accounts and annuities through a hybrid model of distribution, direct selling and franchising.

In 2010, Prime American Insurance began trading on the New York Stock Exchange as a newly independent corporation. As of 2015, Prime American Insurance is regarded as the largest independent financial marketing services organization in North America.
