When do you put up a hummingbird feeder in New Jersey?
By Forinfos - 04/05/2025 - 0 comments
New Jersey residents can begin to put hummingbird feeders up at the end of April. Hummingbirds begin to show up just before the summer season begins in June.
In New Jersey, the most common breed of hummingbird is the ruby throat, and males appear before females each season.
Hummingbirds looking to feed at the beginning of the season are very attracted to nectar. Nectar is available at many local home improvement stores, or it can be made at home by combining four parts water with one part sugar. Boil the mixture for 1 to 2 minutes to dissolve it, and store it in the refrigerator until needed.
