What does a shih tzu mix look like?

The appearance of a shih tzu mix can vary widely depending on what the puppy inherits from its non-shih tzu parent. Because the shih tzu is a toy breed, a shih tzu mix will probably be small to medium size.

Shih tzus are small, sturdy dogs with long outer coats and silky undercoats. Their heads are wide between the eyes, and they have a well-defined break in their profiles and short muzzles. Puppies bred by crossing a shih tzu with a purebred dog of a different breed or with a mixed-breed dog usually inherit at least some of these traits.
