When should you plant Bahia grass seed?

Early spring is the best time to plant Bahia grass seed in areas with good drainage. If the elevation is low and the soil is moist, late spring is an ideal planting time. In the deep South, seeding is also possible during the fall.
Bahia grass is a perennial plant typically found in the southeastern United States. The grass is often grown in pasture lands, but it is also used for hay, erosion prevention and wildlife habitats. The seeds are planted only 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep. Although at least half of the seeds germinate within a month, some do not germinate for a full year.
