The theme song for "La Reina del Sur" is sung by Los Cuates de Sinaloa, a Mexican band. The song was originally written and performed by Los Tigres del Norte in 2002.

"La Reina del Sur" is a Spanish telenovela that premiered on Telemundo in 2011. It is based on the bestselling novel by author Arturo Pérez-Reverte and concerns the story of a girl who becomes a prominent Spanish drug trafficker. One of the most successful Spanish-language telenovelas, the series airs in over 86 countries including the United States, Russia, Turkey, France, Iran and Slovenia, and it has been translated into 17 languages.
