What is the temperament of the Boston Terrier?

By Forinfos - 17/04/2026 - 0 comments

Boston terriers are intelligent, outgoing and energetic with a good disposition. They can be stubborn at times but are typically eager to please their owners, which makes them very trainable.

Although the Boston terrier was originally used for hunting rats, in recent decades breeders have focused on creating a good companion animal. As a result, they are friendly and generally good with children and other dogs, making them great family pets. They tend not to bark much, although they may vocalize when excited. Like any intelligent breed, they can become destructive if they are not given enough physical and mental stimulation. With proper training and exercise, however, they are calm but active.
