What is a Boston terrier brindle?
By Forinfos - 03/06/2025 - 0 comments
The term brindle refers to one of the possible colors of the Boston terrier's coat, which consists of black fur mixed with tan, brown or gold fur. Brindle is sometimes described as being "tiger striped" because the blend of colors is irregular and typically darker than the coat's base color.
The official standard colors of the Boston terrier's coat are brindle, seal, or black according to the American Kennel Club. In judging situations, Boston terriers with fur that is either solid brindle or solid black in color are disqualified if the required white markings aren't present on the coat. Brindle coloring is only preferred if all of the dog's other official standards are equal.
