The navel orange is seedless and is available from November through May, with peak supplies in January, February and March. Navel oranges are one of the most popular citrus varieties among consumers in the United States.
Sunkist.com states that navel oranges are easy to spot in the produce aisle, with their button formation opposite the stem end. Navel oranges peel and segment easily.
Moro or blood oranges also have few or no seeds. They are available January through mid-April and are small to medium-sized with a thin skin. The interior is bright red to deep maroon, and the fruit's flavor is orange with a suggestion of raspberry.
