Walpole, New Jersey is a fictional town from the Sundance television series, “The Red Road.” “The Red Road” is a story about two communities in conflict: the Jersey town of Walpole and a Native American tribe known as the Lenape Indians from the mountains that border Walpole.

The main character of the story is a police officer named Harold Jensen who bears the task of dealing with both sides of the conflict. The Ramapough Lenape Nation, a real-life tribe of Native Americans who live in the mountains of Ramapo New Jersey. Although they are a recognized group by the state of New Jersey, they have not received the same designation from the federal government.
