What is the weather like in Thailand?

Thailand's climate is tropical. As such, the weather is generally hot and humid for most of the year. The southern coastal regions have two seasons, a rainy season and a dry season, while the interior of the country has three: the cool season, the hot season and the rainy season.

The rainy season stretches from July to October and is dominated by the southwest monsoon. The rain usually comes in the late afternoons in downpours, while the rest of the day is sunny. The cool season stretches from November to February, where most of the country experiences relatively lower temperatures and little rain. The hot season goes from March until June and is characterized by punishing heat and oppressive humidity.
