Who wrote "Are You My Mother"?

P.D. Eastman is the author of the children's book "Are You My Mother?" Philip Dey Eastman was born in Massachusetts in 1909 and died in 1986. He was the author and/or illustrator of 18 children's books and also worked as a filmmaker.

"Are You My Mother?" is a book about a baby bird who hatches from his egg while his mother is not in the nest. In his search for her, he mistakes several animals and objects for his mother. He eventually jumps onto a steam shovel, thinking it to be his mother, and it lifts him back up into his nest, where his mother has just arrived.
