Can dogs eat rice?

Dogs can eat rice. It's a beneficial ingredient in easing various conditions, including digestive problems and diarrhea. Rice is already incorporated into some dog foods, but an owner can prepare and serve brown or white rice to supplement his dog's diet.

In comparison to white rice, brown rice contains a bit more protein and a little less fat. A diet comprised solely of rice does not provide all the nutrients a dog needs, so it must be combined with healthy meats and vegetables. Because rice contains many carbohydrates, eating too much of it can cause a dog to gain weight.
