What is the capital of Macau?

Macau does not have a capital. The region is approximately 12.1 square miles and is a special administrative region of China. It is located on the western side of the Pear River, across from Hong Kong.

Macau, like Hong Kong, is considered to belong to China, but does not apply the country's economic policy. This practice is referred to as 'one country, two systems.' Macau has a market based, service-oriented economy instead of a socialist economy. This economy is mostly supported by gambling, tourism and some manufacturing. The region's chief of state is the president of China, but the head of the government in Macau is the chief executive.
