How do I clean cloth vertical blinds?

Many cloth vertical blinds cannot be washed and should be cleaned with monthly vacuuming using an upholstery brush attachment. Periodically, a soft brush should be used on cloth vertical blinds to remove lint and dust. Brushing should be done from top to bottom to avoid detaching the individual blinds.

Cloth vertical blinds that can't be washed typically can be spot-cleaned with a damp, clean towel with a little dry cleaning spot treatment. A portion of the blinds that is not visible should be tested before using the method in visible areas. If the treatment does not fade the color, the blinds can be spot-treated until soil disappears.
