How do you clean pool tile?

Clean scale buildup from pool tile by lowering the water level, applying a gel tile cleaner, scrubbing in a circular motion, and wiping away the cleaning compound. If any scale remains, repeat the gel application, and use a razor scraper for stubborn stains.
- Drain some water from the pool
Drain 6 to 12 inches of water from the pool. If you plan to work from the poolside, 6 inches is sufficient, but if you are working from inside the pool, the full 12 inches is required to prevent splashing water onto the cleaner.
- Apply the gel pool cleaner
Use a lint-free cloth to apply the acidic cleaner to the scale on the tile. Rub the cleaner over the surface with the cloth, and allow the substance to sit for approximately 15 minutes.
- Wipe away the cleaner and scale
Use a fresh cloth and bucket of water to wipe away the cleaner and dissolved scale. Wring the cloth well, and wipe the tile to remove the solution. Allow the area to dry to check for complete removal.
- Repeat the process
Heavily scaled tile sometimes requires a second application. Use a razor scraper or pumice scrubbing rock to help remove the scale after the second application. Wipe the tile clean with a damp rag, and refill the pool.
