Cinemark 8 first opened in 1989 and was operated by Cinemark for 26 years before its closure on May 10, 2015 after a last picture show. The theatre was located on Memorial Drive in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was directly across from the Woodland Hill Mall.
During Cinemark 8's last years of operations, it served as a discount dollar theater where movies on their second run were shown for reduced ticket prices. Cinemark 8 was one of Tulsa's most popular movie theatres during the 1990s before its popularity began to fade as larger theatres opened up in the area. Aside from Cinemark 8, Cinemark runs three other theatres in the area as of 2015.
