What is a dragon blood cichlid?

A dragon blood cichlid is a type of tropical fish characterized by its fiery red and light blue coloration. This fish is also commonly referred to as a firefish cichlid or golden peacock.

The dragon blood cichlid is omnivorous and usually reaches about 5 inches long when full grown. Dragon blood cichlids prefer a rocky aquarium environment and water that is between 73 and 82 degrees Fahrenheit. Their diet consists of a variety of vegetables such as spinach, romaine lettuce, peas or zucchini, supplemented with brine shrimp, blood worms and earthworms. Cichlids are generally of medium size, oval-shaped and slightly flattened along their vertical axis.
