Can babies eat yogurt?

Most babies can eat yogurt at the same time they begin eating solids ? around six months. Babies should have plain, unsweetened, pasteurized whole milk yogurt.
Babies can also eat plain Greek yogurt and plain yogurt with pureed or chopped fruit in it. Yogurt should not be the main feature in a baby?s diet but rather one small part of a well-rounded diet. Because babies under the age of 2 need fat, they should not be fed any type of reduced or no-fat yogurt. Since babies do not need sugar, they should also not be fed flavored or fruit yogurt. All new food should be introduced in a timed manner; parents should wait three days from first feeding their baby yogurt to introducing another new food.
