What is the habitat of a cow?

A cow's habitat is any location that has enough grass or plants to support a cow's constant grazing. A common habitat is grasslands, but cattle can also survive in forests by eating the vegetation. They are able to survive in a number of different weather conditions and terrains as long as they have access to food and water.

Species of cattle that live in cold climates have developed thick fur to help keep them warm, while those in warm areas keep cool by coating themselves with mud.

Cattle live in a large group known as a herd. Living in a herd helps keep the cattle safe; if a cow issues a distress call, the whole herd will stampede.
