Hemophilia is a bleeding disorder in which the blood takes abnormally long time to clot as a result of low levels of clotting factors, according to Mayo Clinic. Patients of hemophilia inherit the condition from their parents or acquire it through gene mutation.

Hemophiliac patients may experience bloody stool or urine, joint tightness, excessive bleeding following cuts, and unexplained nose bleeds, states Mayo Clinic. Other signs and symptoms of hemophilia include frequent vomiting, neck pain and double vision. It is advisable to seek immediate medical care when the signs and symptoms of hemophilia appear, in order to receive early treatment. This helps to prevent possible complications including joint damage, deep muscle bleeding and infection.
