What is the life expectancy of someone with a brain tumor?

Life expectancy for brain tumor patients varies widely with the type of tumor and the age of the patient, notes the American Cancer Society. For example, the five-year survival rate for people with meningioma is 92 percent for ages 20 to 44 but 67 percent for ages 55 to 64.
Age and type are just two factors determining life expectancy with brain tumors, though. Grading of the tumor, the amount of the tumor left after the surgery, the location, any metastasis to or from other parts of the body, whether this is a recurrent tumor and biogenetic markers all influence the doctor's prognosis for life expectancy as well, explains the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
