Where was Lisa Lopes' funeral held?

The venue for Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes' funeral was the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia. Approximately 10,000 fans, family and friends attended the funeral on May 2, 2002, arriving as early as 7 a.m.

Lopes' casket, engraved with lyrics from her group's famous song, "Waterfalls," arrived at the church after 11 a.m. Candelabras and large flower arrangements decorated the altar. Her funeral service began in the afternoon and included inspirational songs, a message from Bishop Eddie Long and reflections on Lopes' life by family members and friends. Afterwards, family and close friends attended a wake in Decatur, Georgia.
