How many people work at NASA?

Over 18,000 people work at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, more commonly known as NASA. NASA is a government agency in the United States that oversees space travel.

In 1957, The Space Age began when the Soviet Union launched their satellite, called Sputnik, into orbit. Thus began what the world now knows as "The Space Race". NASA was created in Washington, D.C., in 1958. The agency specializes in aeronautic research and space travel and exploration. NASA's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, sending America's astronauts into space, launching satellites into orbit, and launching space probes into the solar system.
