As of 2015, Illinois has 18 members serving in the United States House of Representatives. Democrats hold 10 seats, while Republicans hold eight seats, each of whom are elected to serve a two-year term with no restrictive term limits.
Illinois accounts for 18 of the 435 congressional districts that make up the United States House of Representatives. Approximately 710,000 citizens populate each district. Democrat representatives include Robin Kelly, Daniel Lipinski, Bill Foster, Bobby Rush and Louis Gutierrez. Rush and Gutierrez are the longest serving representatives, having assumed office in 1993. Republican representatives include Peter Roskam, Bob Bold, Mike Bost, Rodney Davis and Darin Lahood.
