Do pugs shed?

Pug breed dogs do shed, although the black-colored pug sheds less than the fawn-colored pug. This breed sheds a lot, and requires frequent brushing to prevent a buildup of hair. The thickness and texture of a pug's fur is similar to cat hair and sticks to furniture and clothing.
The black pug sheds less than the fawn pug because it only has one layer of fur. A fawn pug has two layers of fur, causing the top layer to shed more frequently than a black pug's fur.
Pug owners can manage shedding by bathing their pug regularly and brushing it daily. A veterinarian may even be able to recommend certain supplements to help reduce shedding.
