The shortest player in NBA history to dunk a basketball in a game is former guard Spud Webb. Boasting a 42-inch vertical jump, the 5-foot-7-inch Webb played for the Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings, Minnesota Timberwolves and Orlando Magic from 1985 to 1998.
Webb won the 1986 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, beating out 6-foot-8-inch Hawks teammate Dominique Wilkins for the title and shocking the basketball world. The shortest player ever to take part in the event, Webb was used as a prop by Nate Robinson, the second-shortest player ever to participate, in the 2006 event and returned as a judge for the 2010 contest.
