What should you use to clean a granite headstone?

Clean a granite headstone with plain water followed by a non-ionic cleaner or a biocidal cleaner. If the stone is in good condition, pressure washing can also be used during the cleaning process.

To clean a headstone, first wet the stone with plain water. Then, spray the wet stone with a specially designed cleaner or a combination of half bleach and half water. Do not use any regular household cleaners. Carefully scrub the gravestone with a nylon or fiber scouring pad, or brush to remove debris and limestone deposits. Let the cleaning solution sit for up to a half hour after scrubbing, and then rinse the surface with plain water.
