What is a sun-dried brick called?

A sun-dried brick is called an adobe brick. Adobe bricks are made from a mixture of clay, sand and straw formed in wooden molds and left to cure in the sun. Modern adobe bricks can be mixed with an asphalt solution that protects them from moisture damage.
Structures that are built out of adobe bricks are called adobes. Adobe bricks are a popular construction medium in hot, dry climates, such as the American Southwest. The thick density of adobe bricks works as an insulator, naturally cooling and heating buildings year round. A properly maintained adobe structure in a reasonably arid climate lasts indefinitely.
