What is a weimaraner-lab mix like?

A cross between a Labrador retriever and a weimaraner is called a labmaraner. The labmaraner is a large dog, standing approximately 24 inches at the shoulder and typically weighing between 60 and 100 pounds when full-grown.

Labmaraners are intelligent and easy to train but may be stubborn at times. They are high-energy dogs that were originally developed for hunting. Labrador retrievers excel at retrieving downed birds, and weimaraners are pointers known for their speed and endurance. The labmaraner was intended to combine the best traits of both breeds to produce an excellent hunting dog. Labmaraners can be black, brown or gray in color and have a short, smooth coat that only sheds minimally.
