The candidates for Philadelphia’s 2015 mayoral general election include Democrat James Kenney and Republican challenger Melissa Lynn Bailey. The general election to select the next Mayor of Philadelphia is to be held on November 3, 2015.
Candidates who took part in the May 19, 2015 Democratic primary elections included Anthony Williams, T. Milton Street, Doug Oliver, Nelson Diaz and Lynne Abraham. Kenney won the primary with over 55 percent of the vote. Republican Melissa Lynn Bailey ran unopposed in the Republican primary, also held on May 19. The 2015 mayoral election is set to replace current Mayor, Michael Nutter, who is precluded from running for re-election due to term limits.
