The Book of Proverbs in the Christian Bible is thought to have been mostly written by Solomon. A few chapters were written by others as well. Agur is thought to have written Proverbs 30, while King Lemuel is believed to have written Proverbs 31.
The Book of Proverbs was written for the male descendants of Solomon and for all of the young men in Israel. It promotes wisdom, understanding and the commandments of God. Proverbs also delves into the topic of what occurs when a person breaks God's law. Plus, it provides people a comparison between God's way of life and man's way of life.
