The capital of Norway is Oslo. Oslo is the largest city in Norway. From 1624 to 1877, it was called Christiana, and then it was known as Kristiana from 1877 to 1925.
The city of Oslo was founded in 1050 by King Harald Hardraade. Oslo experienced a period of rapid development following the end of World War II. In 1948, the city absorbed the neighboring town of Aker, incorporating it into the capital. The city is home to a variety of cultural and scientific institutions. Olso also functions as a national center for a number of Norwegian activities and industries, such as trade, banking and shopping.
