What do car registration marks mean?
By Forinfos - 27/04/2025 - 0 comments
Car registration marks are used to identify vehicles and their registered owners. The marks show the region of registration, an age identifier and three random letters.
The region of registration, or local memory tag, is signified by two letters that represent the region and specific office of registration. The age identifier changes twice every year, on the first day of March and September. The three letters at the end are assigned randomly to each vehicle; this ensures that each vehicle has a unique mark. The letters "T" and "Q" are never used to avoid any potentially offensive letter combinations, and the three-letter random selection is always checked for potentially offensive combinations.
