At its deepest point, Loch Ness has a depth of approximately 788 feet. The lake is 23 miles long and contains the largest volume of fresh water in Great Britain.
Loch Ness is a lake in the Scottish Highlands with the River Ness as its outlet. It is the second-deepest lake in Scotland. At 433 feet, it has the greatest mean depth of all Scottish lakes. This is due to the lake's great depths continuing almost up to the shoreline, which, combined with surface oscillations caused by differential heating, results in very little flora in the waters of Loch Ness.
