What does human flesh taste like?

The accounts of some killers and cannibals suggest that human flesh may taste similar to pork, but journalist William Seabrook described it as being more akin to veal. As with other types of meat, different cuts and methods of preparation can affect an individual's perception of human flesh.

German cannibal Armin Meiwes claimed that human flesh has a hint of bitterness, while New Hebrides islanders, prospector Alfred Packer and murderer Omeima Nelson declared that it is sweet. Additionally, Nelson gave praise to the tender texture of human flesh. Seabrook recounted his experience with a tender human roast, but he also reported that he had a slightly tough and stringy human steak.
