Meteorologist Jerry Taft is not divorced. He married his high school girlfriend shortly after graduation, and they are still married as of August 2015. Jerry Taft is the weather anchor for ABC 7 in Chicago and has been with the station since 1984.

Jerry Taft served 15 years in the Air Force as a pilot, radar technician and forecaster. He spent a year in Vietnam during his service. He has a bachelor of science degree in meteorology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and he started his meteorology career as the weekend weatherman at KMOL in San Antonio, Texas, in 1976. He later spent seven years with WMAQ in Chicago before moving to ABC 7.
